Each spring all 9-12 grade students are required to attend the KIA village trip. The students spend 3-5 days in a Chinese village serving the people by helping with various construction projects, teaching English, computer education and other needs of the people.
Students are also required to complete a senior service learning project during the fall of their 12th grade year. Each student completes 25 hours of community service in an area of their choice. Each student prepares a presentation and shares their experiences with students, staff and parents.
SCIENCE FAIR/SOCIAL SCIENCE FAIR
Each year KIA holds a school-wide Science Fair or Social Science Fair, alternating years. Students are required to participate in the fair which involves thoughtful topic selection, an extensive research paper and presentation of research and experiment.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
KIA offers the following options for students to participate in as extra-curricular activities:
Choir, Drama, Spring Play, Swimming, Soccer, Hiking, Christmas Program, Boys & Girls Basketball, Student Government, Journalism (yearbook/newspaper)
