Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, is known as the “spring city” because of its year round mild climate. Nevertheless during the cold season it might get chilly at times. The city is located at an altitude of 1891 m (6204 feet) in the Yunnan-Guizhou-Plateau.

Kunming is rich in natural and historical resources. It is renowned for its charming highland scenes and culture. The Yunnan Province consists of around 25 different minority groups, each with its own unique culture and language.

The local food is also very attractive. The cross bridge rice noodle is very famous in China.
