Admissions Procedure:
To apply for enrollment the following must be submitted:
1. The completed Admissions Application Form turned in to the KIA office
2. A passport size photo of the student
3. Copies of the picture page of the student and parent’s passport
4. Current school records from previous school(s) officially translated into English or a completed School Record Request. No enrollment decision will be made until current school records are received.
5. Immunization records, officially translated into English
6. Copy of child’s birth certificate, officially into translated
7. Copies of the student’s and parent’s visa and residence permit
8. A one-time non-refundable application fee of 1,500 RMB
9. Set up an appointment for an interview and testing date(s).
NOTE: If a student enters KIA after the start of the school year, there may be up to a 5-day teacher notification period from the time testing results are announced until the student’s first day of school.
Admission Criterion:
The principal and/or appropriate administrative staff will determine the admission of a student. The decision is based on the following criteria.
1. Age of student
2. Test results
3. Availability of space
4. Previous school record
Re-enrollment of former students:
Students returning to KIA, who have been away less than 24 months, will not have to pay the application fee. Instead, a 1,600 RMB deposit is required with the application. The Capital Fee is also waived for families who have been away less than 24 months or who have previously paid it. The application fee will apply to all students who have been away from KIA for 24 or more months. All former students must complete the application for admission and provide the necessary documents for enrollment. Former students applying at the same time with new students will be given priority over new students in the admission process.
