Mr. Maust graduated in 2001 from Indiana University with a M.S. in Secondary Science Education. He teaches high school science and helps administer grades 6-12.

Michelle LaPorte, Murrieta, California, USA.

Ms. LaPorte received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Youth Ministry from Hope International University in 2001 and her Master’s degree in Education with a School Counseling Credential from Azusa Pacific University in 2003. She is the Guidance Counselor and Student Activities Coordinator at KIA.

Joylynn Blake, Dallas, Texas, USA.

Mrs. Blake graduated with her B.A. in 1997 and her M.A. from Regent College, Vancouver in 2005. She teaches Geography and serves as KIA’s curriculum developer.

Bethany Birch, USA.
Bethany has her BA from Valparaiso University in biology (2006). She is certified in Life science 8-12, and special education. Before joining KIA, Bethany was an ESL teacher in Taiwan. Bethany teaches middle school and high school biology.

Alex Shytov.
Born in Russia; Alex studied history and social sciences in Russia, the UK, and Germany; taught social sciences in Russia, Thailand, and China. Alex teaches history and social science for high school students.

Kimberly Englund, Seattle, Washington, USA.
Ms. Englund is a 2009 graduate of Western Washington University with a B.S. in mathematics. She is currently teaching math 6, pre-algebra, and algebra 2.

Lawnda Fiock, Elmira, Oregon, USA.
Miss Fiock is a Northwest Christian University Graduate (BA,2001,2007) in Speech Communication and Teaching English as a Second Language with minors in Dance, Drama, and Music. She teaches Middle School ELD(English Language Learners), IL(Immersion Language Learners), Sheltered English Classes, and CLS.

Roland Franks, Whitefish, Montana, USA.
Bethel College (MN) graduate (1992) in Literature/Writing and Philosophy. Teaching Certification courses from the University of Great Falls (completed in 2005). He teaches high school Language Arts—American Literature, British Literature, Analysis of Literature, AP English Language and Composition, and sometimes Speech.

Derek Johnson, Barre, Vermont, USA.
Derek has been teaching with Oasis since 1999 (previously in Korea and Turkey). He teaches high school philosophy and holds an undergraduate degree from Cedarville University and graduate degrees from Cornerstone University.

Megan Jones, Oregon, USA.
Miss Jones completed her Bachelors, in history and literature, and Masters in Teaching at Pacific University. She teaches middle school Language Arts and high school Asian Literature.

Jeffrey Legue, Rockford, Illinois, USA.
Mr. Legue is a 1981 graduate of Crown College. He teaches Middle School Science and Sheltered Science classes. He also serves on the Performing Arts Committee as the Technical Director.

Mrs. Legue is a 1981 graduate of Crown College in Minnesota. She teaches high school English and Journalism. She also serves as the chairperson of KIA’s Performing Arts Committee.

Greg Letherer, Los Angeles, California, USA.
Mr. Letherer graduated from Westmont College in 1985 with a degree in psychology with an educational emphasis and later earned his M.A. in TESOL from Azusa Pacific University. He teaches middle school ELD and high school P.E. along with coaching high school basketball.

Ginger MacDonald, Chicago, Illinois.
Mrs. MacDonald is a 1983 graduate of Michigan State University. She teaches Middle School ELL, Immersion Language Learner classes and the Me Magazine selective.

Gary Ou-Yang, Taiwan.
Mr. Ou-Yang studied Computer Science at University of Waterloo, certified MCSE and CCNA. He teaches computer class to secondary students, and is also the Online Class Coordinator.

Lois Rensch, Ovilla, Texas, USA.
Lois Rensch graduated from Wheaton College in 1982 with a BS in Mathematics. She teaches high school mathematics – Geometry, Advanced Mathematics, and AP Calculus.

Eric Rodgers; Columbia, SC, USA.
Eric is a 2006 graduate of Columbia International University with a BA in Intercultural Studies. He graduated in 2008 with a MA in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). Eric teaches high school ESL classes and grade 8 Language Arts and Reading.

Graduated in 1984 from East Texas State University. He teaches Middle School Social Studies and helps coach the Boys Basketball Team.

Aileen Choo Siew Kiang (Thong), Singaporean.
She holds a Bachelor of Science Honors (1977) degree from the University of Singapore and a Diploma in Education (1979) from the Institute of Education, Singapore. Aileen teaches High School Science and Middle School Math at KIA.
